Weirdo Friends Day, Webisode 4: “Ymara Ecrof Tency, best tv watcher”

It’s Weirdo Friends Day!

Welcome to another wacky, totally fictional interview of a ‘Weirdo Friend.’ Today’s story features Ymara Ecrof Tency, best tv watcher. (Video of this interview is coming soon…)

YMARA: Where are the tv’s? I thought you said there’d be tvs here? What’s going on?

Bonnie Jean: What is your BIG DREAM?

YMARA: Big dream? The only dream I have is to be the best tv watcher ever. I have a whole tv room in my house. I have six big screen tvs, and all of them have picture in picture, so I can watch 12 things at once. I don’t like having to stop watching tv so I can sleep or eat or go to school. All I want to do is watch tv. I’m really good at it.

Bonnie Jean: Why are you playing The Champion Creator Game?

YMARA: The what? Oh. The game Alex and Tyler play in that book, The Dream Doers and the Summer of Secrets. I listened to that book while I was watching tv and thought it was pretty good. My parents are always trying to get me to do stuff to make me think or whatever, so I promised them I’d turn the tvs off for 15 minutes a day to do the missions.

Between you and me, I don’t really want to play the game cause I’d rather watch tv, but it’ll make my parents happy. And they’re the ones who bought me the tvs in the first place. Speaking of tv, seven of my favorite shows are about to come on, so I have to go. See ya!

We’ll check back in with Ymara in a few weeks to see if she’s making any progress toward setting some goals. She does have a few weird quirks (which you’ll be able to see in the video of the interview that’s coming soon), but as long as she follows through with the missions, she’ll be able to find a way to do what she dreams.

Weird quirks or not, you can find a way to do what you dream, too. Life is really much more fun when you set goals and take action to make them happen. So…

Join the Dream Doer League. Play The Champion Creator Game. And DO what you DREAM!

To Your Dreams,
Bonnie Jean

P.S. Stay tuned for details about how you can play The Champion Creator Game. (‘Ymara’ may be made up, but the game is REAL!) Until then, enjoy listening to the entire bestselling young adult novel The Dream Doers and the Summer of Secrets by clicking here!

It’s Weirdo Friends Day!

Welcome to another wacky, totally fictional interview of a ‘Weirdo Friend.’ Today’s story features Sally ‘Super Fit’ Safari, personal trainer for dogs. (Video of this interview is coming soon…)

*****

SALLY: I’m in the middle of a workout, so I don’t have a lot of time to chat. I’m Sally ‘Super Fit’ Safari, and I just wanted to say hi and let you know I’m totally pumped about finding a way to do what I dream by being part of the Dream Doer League and playing The Champion Creator Game.

Bonnie Jean: What is your BIG DREAM?

SALLY: My big dream is to be a personal trainer for dogs. I’m not really a cat kind of person, but if a cat asked me to get him in shape, I probably would. I’d probably help birds and zebras and fish, too. I mean, if an animal wants to pay me to go through my training program to get super fit and healthy, I don’t want to turn anyone away just because the only pet I have is a dog. Only I wouldn’t train a snake. They freak me out with their scaly, slimy skin and the way they slither around.

Bonnie Jean: How are you going to live your dream?

SALLY: I’m just going to start by training my dog. I’m making a training area for her in my backyard. She has to run and jump and doggie paddle and lift little doggie weights. When my neighbors see how super fit my dog is, they’ll ask me train their dogs…or cats or birds or zebras or fish. Then they’ll tell their friends and stuff like that.

Bonnie Jean: Why are you playing the Champion Creator Game?

SALLY: I get distracted a lot, just like that character Tyler in The Dream Doers and the Summer of Secrets. Well, if playing the game can help him learn how to focus and live his dreams, I figure it can help me learn how to focus and live my dreams, too. I have to find my dog so we can run. She seems to be hiding from me a lot lately…

Meet Randaru Rebnitch, ‘Sun Photographer’

On August 26, 2009, in Fun Fiction, Motivating Stories, by Bonnie Jean Schaefer

It’s Weirdo Friends Day!

Welcome to another wacky, totally fictional interview of a ‘Weirdo Friend.’ Today’s story features Randaru Rebnitch, sun photographer. (Video of this interview is coming soon…)

*****

RANDARU: Randaru Rebnitch here, ready to answer your questions. But I don’t have a lot of time. The sun will be setting soon. What do you want to know?

Bonnie Jean: What is your BIG DREAM?

RANDARU: That’s easy. I want to be a sun photographer. I want to take pictures of sunrises and sunsets and have my pictures hang in hospitals and dentists offices and hotels all over the world.

Bonnie Jean: How are you going to live your dream?

RANDARU: I don’t know. I like dreaming about taking pictures of the sun because it makes the sky look awesome when it rises and sets. But I’ve never actually taken any pictures of the sunrise or sunset. That’s why I joined the Dream Doer League and am going to play the Champion Creator Game.

Bonnie Jean: What is the Champion Creator Game?

RANDARU: It’s a confidence-building, goal-setting, action-packed game that teaches you how to live like a champion and do what you dream. You get five practice missions every day, and then a game to play every week, just like the characters in The Dream Doers and the Summer of Secrets.

See, I’m tired of just dreaming about being a great sun photographer; I want to do something about it. If you have a dream you want to do something about you, you should join the Dream Doer League and play the game, too.

The sun’s starting to set. I gotta go watch it. Later!
